Nope, it's a false alert. On OSX 10.4, the latest version compatible is Firefox 3.6 that will be EOL in April 2012. So you can't update to a more recent version, you are stick to 3.6.x.

Is there anything I can do to make Flash player faster on this older version? I play Yoville & it is very slow, most animation does not move well there. My Avatar is out run by a turtle. Cute items do not function well there, nor editing, opening gifts etc. Yesterday there was a older update available for MAC 10.4 OS X I down loaded it but it said it was older then what I have installed. I wonder if it would be better or worse? I did trash it, although it said Firefox 3.6.26 which is the same thing???? right. I really don't understand.

Excuse my bad manners so deep in thoughts, Thank you Oxylatium, very much for your assistance in this misunderstanding of the internet issues. I'm thoroughly baffled here.

Mozilla offered you to upgrade to the latest Firefox version, but it's a "bug" because on OSX 10.4 PPC, only 3.6 version is compatible. :)

Thank you Oxylatium, if I understand correctly I need to find the older version FireFox 3.6 not the Firefox 3.6.26. There were times Fire Fox would just close by itself as well. LOL so sorry I have so many questions for so many lil things that have made my experience a pain. Your so very prompt in helping me what a joy you are.

you are updated, 3.6 mean 3.6.x or 3.6.26 latest, don't search 3.6 you are ok

see: Firefox 3.6 System Requirements

thank you

I mean 3.6 branch, id est 3.6.x. X is just a number for routine updates, not important to describe a version. Use the latest 3.6 version that's 3.6.26 (so it's OK because your are already under 3.6.26).

Beginning with Firefox 4, Macs must have an Intel x86 processor (you have a PPC Mac) and OSX 10.5 or higher.

The good news is that Firefox 3.6.x still supports OSX 10.4 and Macs with the PPC Mac architecture. The bad news is that support for the Firefox 3.6.x series is likely to end in the first half of 2012.

You can try the third-party product TenFourFox that supports PPC Macs with OSX 10.4.11 and OSX 10.5.8. Firefox 10 version of TenFourFox is available. The product is based on Firefox released versions. All support is provided by the developer, not by this site:

Thank you all, I had figured those things out while I was looking for answers. I'm almost nuts with this mess. I have to use 2 Browsers to play Yoville. Safari will get my game gifts inside the game as usual I can edit the game rooms. But copy & paste won't work in the browser bar ????? I have to use Fire Fox for that but then I can't get gifts or edit my rooms that is just insane I think. Also the browsers are shutting down on me too. That new flash player is tempting but I'm afraid for what it may bring in too. Not sure the newest is compatible with my Tiger. This morning when I turned on my MAC the mouse would only opened widgets LOL what a mess. I used the button to turn it off then unplugged it from the ethernet, removed printer cord, waited then turned it back on, all was fine I was relieved. I had the CD Burner replace but I still get a medium burn issue I think I have some adjustments wrong there too. Thank you all this has become so perplexing I need someone to do it for me for I'm really confused now. LOL it get progressively worse...
