I have desktop and task bar icons for some web pages. After the latest upgrade when I click the icons I get "Windows cannot find (the url listed in the shortcut) Make sure the typed the name correctly.... and seconds later the web page opens up. I do get the web pages but the error message and having to click OK to get it off is annoying Recreating the shortcuts does not fix it

The default of the pref network.http.max-connections has been increased from 30 to 256 in Firefox 6+ versions.

Try to decrease the value of the pref network.http.max-connections from 256 to 30 as used in Firefox 3 versions.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Thanks cor-el for the information but that did'nt help. Its not that the website wont open as it does open shortly after Firefox says it cant find the URL that is in the shortcut. Basically it says it cant find it but then does. I only have this problem w shortcuts not from within Firefox itself. Recreating the short cuts doesn't fix it
