The Plugin container doesn't show up in the volume mixer. what's going on?

for a while the sound worked but it up and stopped suddenly. the plugin container for firefox section no longer shows up in the volume mixer. i've tried reinstalling firefox and that didn't work.

I've allowed the plugin-container through my firewall. now it even that it's running in my processes but still won't play sound and registers sound in the mixer but i still hear nothing.
