I need the plugin for logmein. I'd been using it fine until 4.0.1

more options

Ever since I upgraded to Firefox 4.0.1 a day or two ago, I can't use logmein because I get a message saying a plugin needs to be installed. At one point I got a prompt telling me to "click here" to install the plugin. When I did that, I got a message a moment later telling me that installation of the plugin was unsuccessful. What's up with that??? I've been using Firefox for several years and have been happy with it until now. I have to use logmein for my work, so I'd sure appreciate it if you could straighten this out.

Although the new version of the plugin is not final, I have been using the beta version and it seems to work well.

No. When I log on, I get a notification to run the application in 32 bit version. When I click that, it just shuts down. If I ignore it, a few seconds later I get on, but the view and the fidelity are notably inferior than what I was used to prior to this 4.0.1 problem. This whole thing shouldn't even be an issue. It works fine when I use Safari, but this isn't my preference.

When I go to the LogMeIn Community, the suggestion there - to log on via the beta.logmein.com link - doesn't really do much. I can get on, but, as I said, the screen view and fidelity are inferior to what I'm accustomed to. Any other ideas?

Without the plugin, you get a Java-based view which only supports a small color palette. I know what you mean about how that looks.

When I logged on via beta.logmein.com it pushed me the new plugin. Maybe I had to restart Firefox to get that? It's been a few weeks so I can't recall the details.

Up until yesterday, LogMeIn had not updated their OSX plugin to work with FF4. An update appears to have been released yesterday, and since then my FF4 has been able to use LMI with the plugin, and without prompting to switch to 32bit mode or anything.

@TheWattsMan, thank you for the update. (I didn't realize the plugin was operating-system specific.)
