The Firefox 4 Start Page is a different page completely.

The new search box should work, but if it doesn't and you prefer to use the "old" Google start page with Firefox skin rather than work with the new start page, here is the old URL:

http://www.google.com/firefox?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official

If there is a different page that you prefer as your home page, you can set that one instead. See How to set the home page | How to | Firefox Help.

Thank you for your prompt assistance to my problem. I tried everything I could to get the search function on the new updated Firefox 4 page to work but it just won't. I type something in, press the search button and it goes nowhere. So I followed your directions and am now once again back to my original Firefox page and all is working smoothly. I read several posts in the problems/answers area and saw that many folks are not all that pleased with this newest version, guess Mozilla will need to work out some kinks with it.........?

Regards, Terry
