Since switching from Internet Explorer to Firefox, how do I access the documents on my floppy discs that I use daily?

With Internet Explorer, I had access to info on my floppy discs but after making Firefox my primary browzer, even though Internet Explorer is still there, I can't open these floppy discs and my resume and all my cover letters are on them.

== Firefox was installed

Start > Run > 'A:' without quotes > click ok, which would open this directory in file browser. Alternatively, 'file://A:/' in Location bar in Firefox should display the same output, but in read-only, so that you would be unable to copy/rename/move files.

Tried clicking Start, then Run, then A but message that popped up said A couldn't be found, and I should be clicking Start, then Search, then A. Tried that but a list of the music I've downloaded came up.

Still can't access the floppy discs that I need to open.
