How do I add a link to the start page that shows when you open a new tab? I've read support docs and I don't have a "pin icon" on my toolbar... I'm on MacOS (M1) and latest (Feb '24) FireFox...... how can it be so non-intuitive? I can't find an option anywhere...

There are two scenarios:

(1) There is a shortcut for the page already and you want to lock it to a specific location

Hover your mouse over the icon until a little ... menu appears at the top right of the icon. Click that to get a menu with a Pin option. Then you can drag it to your preferred location.

(2) There isn't a shortcut for the site so it needs to be added

The only way I know to do it is to choose a shortcut you don't care about and manually edit it:

(a) Copy the URL of the page from the address bar (you'll paste this later)

(b) Hover your mouse over an icon until a little ... menu appears at the top right of the icon. Click that to get a menu with an Edit option.

(c) Enter a caption for the shortcut and paste the URL of page then click Save. Firefox should fetch the site icon automatically.
