As of installing the latest cumulitive update to Windows 10 (version 22H2, build 19045.3271), every time I restart my computer and open Firefox, it opens and immediately closes. Then I reopen it, and it does not ask for my primary password. I often have to reset the password and then it gives me access to my stored information. This is a brand new problem, and it's extrememly frustrating. I have tried downloading the program again and re-installing as an update. And Firefox is also up to date (116.0). Any suggestions as to why it's happening or how to fix it? Thanks.

Firefox would only ask for the Primary Password on startup if you are using Sync.

Using Sync is a possible reason to ask for the Primary Password at startup. This is because the credentials to login to the Sync account are stored in the Password Manager and you need to enter the Primary Password to unlock the passwords and connect/login to the Sync account.

The Primary Password is only used locally to encrypt the logins stored in the profile folder and is never part of Sync and each device can have its own PP apart from mobile devices that use OS authentication (face/finger). The PP doesn't block access to Firefox and if you cancel the PP prompt then you merely block access to stored usernames and passwords, but otherwise Firefox works the same.
