Hi, since this morning (220322) I cannot access Thunderbird any longer. Instead I get asked to 'Set Up Your Existing Email Address'. When I tried to do this I get the following message: 'Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password. I am not sure if I am using the right password. Is there any way to check. I am really worried all my old emails are lost. Is there any way to recover those?

avast or AVG probably quarantined your perfs.js file.

check to see if it is in quarantine, if it is go into c://users/(user name)/app data/roaming/thunderbird/profiles/(yourprofile)/ and locate the perfs.js file, rename it to perf.js.old then restore the file your AV software first quarantined (in my case the perfs.js file was quarantined multiple times, so I restored the first one that got flagged)
