Thunderbird storage was full, will emails recover?

Over the weekend my storage became full and I did not realize it. I wasn’t receiving any emails which alerted me to the problem.

I cleared my disk and freed up storage, compacted folders, etc., and when I email myself from a different account I get those emails.

My question is: will emails that were sent to me over the weekend, but didn’t come through due to storage issue, will I still get those emails?

Generally, if there is no space, messages are returned to sender.
