New asterisk or dot at end of 'To' address ?

I'm using 91.5.0 and when writing an email, an asterisk or dot, not clear which, is now added to the end of the 'To' box. The first time I noticed it, I actually posted the address into the box but now it's there in all circumstances. It doesn't appear to affect the working but what is it and why is it there ?

If you hover on the asterisk, the tooltip says the address is not in your address book (see picture).
