Firefox update issue with 2011 iMac

I received a message to upgrade Firefox on my 2011 iMac. When I tried to do that I was told that it could not be installed. Also happening is that I get an error message "Secure Connection Failed" when I try to access some sites (but not all) with Firefox. I can access these sites with Safari.

Has my 2011 computer (like yours truly!) reached a point where it can no longer be upgraded? Any help/insight would be appreciated!

Not sure what macOS version you have on you old Mac since 2011 is not really information.

Firefox since Fx 79.0 and later including the current Fx 95 and 91 ESR requires macOS 10.12 (ten.twelve) at minimum.

Besides updating your OS to macOS 10.12 or later, the most current Firefox version you can install on macOS 10.9, 10.10 and 10.11 is Fx 78.15.0 ESR though it is EOL with no more updates.

In case you ever need the Firefox 78.15.0esr file. https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/78.15.0esr/mac/en-US/ other locales at https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/78.15.0esr/mac/
