Hi. Opened the browser yesterday to find that the shortcut buttons that sit in a new tab had all dissapeared, and it wouldn't let me manually add new ones (i just enter the name and url and then it stays black after hitting 'add'). The browsing history is also gone, as are all of the images for the sites in the bookmark bar.

I've looked for an 'old firefox data' on the desktop incase it went there but there isnt one, i've checked profiles to see if a new one was made but thats not it either. Does anyone know whats happened or what i can try next?

Thanks

You can check for issues caused by a corrupted or incomplete Visual C++ installation that is missing runtime components (Redistributable Packages) required by Firefox, especially VCRUNTIME140_1.dll.

See "Visual Studio 2015, 2017 and 2019":

You may not need the latter (32-bit version) if you use 64-bit Firefox. You may have to reboot the computer.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support to see if that has effect in case security software is causing problems.
