Hello Community,

I'm new here ;)

My Question is:

Why didn't the new version 79.0 install itself automatic like the other versions did before? I should download it from the Homepage and install it (maybe deinstall the Browser before). I got v.78.0.2 64bit on a Windows 10 desktop.

Thank you, friendly regards,

Robert

Oh sorry, I didn't realise that you were getting that message.

I'd suggest checking that it is still the same after a restart of the computer. If it is still erroring, you should be able to download it from the website, and install it - without uninstalling the existing version first.

Hi,

Under normal conditions Firefox may take a few days to update by itself - we tend to initially release updates to a small segment of users, then pause, then enable it fully.

If you want to update earlier you should be able to go to the three-bar menu -> Help -> About Firefox and that will let you update.

Thank you for your fast reply. Ok then i will wait until it update automatic. Under Help/About Firesfox instead of the update button there is a link to the homepage to download, this will change then. Thanks
