Can not create a new account in Thunderbird. I have screen shots showing what I have tried. I have done this a number of times. I have changed the password to assure that was not the problem.

The following screen shots show what I have tried. Pics 1, 2, and 3 are self explainable. Pic 4, I went to Yahoo and clicked on the "Mail" icon in the upper right hand corner. Pic 5, I clicked on the "denise.k.shurtz@sbcglobal.net" line. Pic 6, I clicked on the "denise.k.shurtz@sbcglobal.net" line. Pic 7, Entered the "new" password "Kathryn19710721LOGON".

This was "new" because I made sure it have upper case, lower case, and numbers.

Pic 8, When I click on "Settings" in the upper right corner of the screen, the following appears on the

         right edge of the screen.

Pic 9, When I click "More Settings" at the bottom of the new part, I get the following. Pic 10, Nowhere do I see anything about Security. That was what I was told was the problem,

therefore the changing of the password.

Chosen solution

I think you have to use a secure mail key in place of the account password:

A secure mail key was in deed the solution. Thank you for the assistance. I spent many hours trying to solve this and about three minutes to use the solution. Thank you again.
