Found a previous poster's Question & Solutions re: if this is an "intended" protocol, but solution DOES NOT apply to Firefox-iPad--just to Mac computers. I have to manually engage address bar by tapping it before I can type-in or paste into New tab's address bar vs just pasting or typing immediately onto address bar on New tab, as can do on my Lenovo Computer's Firefox and Safari on this iPad. Thinking, due to past experience, I must be techno-ignorant in this situation, too. So, I am hoping someone here can enlighten me. Metaphor,"SURFING THE WEB" just occurred to me. Having to manually engage address bar in new tab is like having to get off your surf board mid-smooth gliding-wave-surf, paddle back out and find another wave--kills the flow; chops-up the flow-experience. If it is not me ignorance causing this issue and it is a glitch in the Firefox iPad 7/OS13.3.1--where do I go to let Firefox know it would be great if they could tweak it? Thanks very much

Hello,

Could you please provide additional info as to how to you are immediately interacting with Firefox browser on iOS? I have the same iPad as you describe plus an older and mini model. In all cases if I open any browser (Safari, Google, Firefox, Microsoft, others) and I already have tabs open the browser doesn’t default to the search bar or anything else. You are presented with a screen of your latest tabs, the most recent being the one currently visible. This is the same if you access a browser that has no open tabs. You should see your home or favorites tabs and depending on how you got to the browser (such as ‘Open In’ or ‘Search With’ in-app sharing tools) you might find your cursor automatically appearing in the search field. But it isn’t the status quo, not even for Safari.

I agree it would be awesome if there were a way to make this possible. It would probably require a Shortcut and behind-the-scenes-tweaking between Apple and Mozilla to “make it so.”

Hope this helps!
