I have to make Firefox my default browser every time I start it.
The title says it all. I just migrated from a Windows 7 computer to a Windows 10 computer and found that Firefox won't stay the default on the new machine. I think something else it silently taking the baton away every time it runs -- but I don't know what. How can I identify the culprit, assuming that's what is wrong, so I can make it stop?

Think you for trying to help me solve this problem. Unfortunately, none of the links you provided address the problem I described.
One link concerns Firefox not appearing in the list of applications to select as a default, and does not apply to me. The other three are essentially duplicates that tell me how to set the default browser. I know how to set the default browser. I have done so. Several times now. Every time I set it, something silently sets it back to Internet Explorer. My problem is: how to find out what is doing that and stop it.
Start your Computer in safe mode with network support. Then select Firefox as the default.
After, reboot. Is the problem still there?
