Since disabling Cortana my browser screen has increased size of text at left of minimize/maximize/close and of the File/Edit/View/History/Bookmarks/Tools/Help bar so they are taking up at least twice the space they normally do. This restricts what I can see on a page; for example, when paying a bill I cannot see the bottom of the calendar popup to change the month for sending the payment. I don't want text in those spaces at 16 pt and 14 pt. and I did not choose to increase them at all, much less to that size. Is this Firefox's punishment for disabling Cortana? I would have thought you'd leave that to Microsoft.

Sounds like a accessibility feature problem settings of Windows O/S not a Browser issue here.

Found nothing there that affected size of text at top of page. The problem is that the greatly increased size of the "where am I?" text and the "File ... Help" buttons cut off viewable space at bottom of page, cannot scroll down to view it.

Does this happen when using the mouse? That sounds more like zoom problem with the scroll wheel button. You should check your mouse drivers here.

Your opinion that it probably wasn't disabling Cortana that caused the problem, and finding the same effect in Word, confirmed your conclusion that it was something other than a browser problem. This led me to checking about everything I could find in Settings. Somewhere along the way I blundered into the right item and the view changed back to normal. Some switch I reset did the trick. It was not obviously something I would expect to have that effect, but it was the solution. Sure wish I had made note of just where I was and which way I reset things, but at least I know that if I create the issue again, I can fumble my way back to the solution. Thank you for suggesting that I look for something apart from Cortana and Firefox.
