now I get black input screens and cannot get them to go away. have tried things on search, but could not understand all and some did not work.

black input screens. I have tried googling and found others with same problem. I tried some things without results. Other suggestions I could not find where they were talking about going. I have loved Firefox for years, but know not so much. If I cannot get resolved, I will have to change to something else. Sad. Windows 10. Using Parallels 13 for Mac.

Hi, are the black screens unusable ? Are they Themes in Firefox are they part of Windows 10 Personalization where can turn things black ?

Please try : SAFE MODE

In Firefox Safe mode these changes are effective:

  • all extensions are disabled (about:addons)
  • default theme is used (no persona)
  • userChrome.css and userContent.css are ignored (chrome folder)
  • default toolbar layout is used (file: localstore-safe.rdf)
  • Javascript JIT compilers are disabled (prefs: javascript.options.*jit)
  • hardware acceleration is disabled (Options > Advanced > General)
  • plugins are not affected
  • preferences are not affected
