Thunderbird crashes when attaching any file, as soon as I click on the paperclip. Crash signature @ wcscpy_s

Hi, Thunderbird crashes when attaching a file, no matter what file, as soon as I click on the paperclip the programm stops straight away. Not freezing, just get the crash report pop-up. I send the support request a long time ago...., but ended up not getting it fixed (no reply), so I am using to my horror Outlook now. I don't like that programm.

I tried rebooting Windows 10 in safe mode, also disabled all addons (have only 2, lighting and ImportExportTools), none of it fixed it, is like this for months now.

Please help, or tell me how to reistall (and keep my mailboxes full?) or do I have to export them?

All the crashes have the same crash signature, and the same stack. https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/042d4c66-5e98-42ad-b889-a2a350180809 shows the crashes are happening in Windows' code

I did not use this programm for months, but tried Mozilla Thunderbird again today without changing anything and it worked. Sorry, can not say what makes the difference now, as I am not familiar with the replies you posted (did not know at all what to do with it, since it is too technical, so I just stopped using the programm). Your two reminder e-mails today made me curious, so I opened the programm and attached a file, and the crashing has stopped. Great.
