why is google in url after downloading firefox

I downloaded Firefox today and was expecting the URL to use Firefox for searches. But instead I see Search with Google or enter address. Have I not completed the process? Firefox is my default browser. Any Ideas? I was hoping to put Google on a back burner.

hi, firefox is a webbrowser but doesn't run its own search engine. google is the default search provider when you download firefox. however you can also switch to other - more privacy-friendly - engines like duckduckgo: Add or remove a search engine in Firefox

hi, firefox is a webbrowser but doesn't run its own search engine. google is the default search provider when you download firefox. however you can also switch to other - more privacy-friendly - engines like duckduckgo: Add or remove a search engine in Firefox
