Hi so when you Click on the Download Arrow it does not show download Progress and it when completed it does not show the black folder icon. You have gone into Customize and Clicked the Download Arrow to unhide.

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/where-find-and-manage-downloaded-files-firefox

So no name problems with the folder where you have it set to download to ?

So conclusion is to the Download progress and Downloaded Folder is it can not be shown due to the video card errors not being able to produce/render it. Then see how things work after fixing the above.

Please reinstall your drivers. https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html See if there is any WHQL drivers available.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Secondly, No name problems with folder set to download to, which in Options is set to: Always ask you where to save files But makes no difference whatever folder am sent it to.

Yes, but that does not solve the problem, and the fact that it used to always work, and the fact that at download completion, in one click then have the option to open or install the downloaded file, or open the folder.

Could you test in Firefox's Safe Mode? In its Safe Mode, Firefox temporarily deactivates extensions, hardware acceleration, and some other advanced features to help you assess whether these are causing the problem.

If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox. (On Mac, hold down the option/alt key instead of the Shift key.)

If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" Help button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • (menu bar) Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

and OK the restart.

Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).

Any improvement?
