Thunderbird Setup - Restoring Profiles and Connecting to Gmail (weird)

more options

New Win10 and Thunderbird install (newest version). Trying to setup my gmail account so I can then reference saved profiles and messages on a non-system drive. I've done this before without issue but now when I try to connect my gmail account I'm getting an error about verification. Email and password are correct. The only way I got it to connect is by generating an app password via gmail. That got me setup but now every time it requests a password it's that 16 character randomly generated app password that is supposed to be single use. My regular password still gets a validation error. This is frustrating.

Despite that I was trying to point Thunderbird to my backed up profiles and mail on my D: drive and it appears it's downloading everything again. I can't believe Mozilla doesn't have a tool where you can click your MSF file and everything imports. This is really a pain in the nuggets. Please help.

I've tried disabling all firewall and antivirus to no avail. Verified my password by logging out and back in to Gmail. *grumble*

An MSF file is a list of mail in a folder. It has less than nothing to so with account settings

Ok. That aside, any idea how to fix my problem?
