clicking about:preferences#privacy is showing about:preferences
Hi,
When I click on Options -> Search, Privacy and Security, or Firefox Account, nothing happens. Neither does typing in "about:preferences#privacy" into the search bar. I might have been tinkering under the about:config hood...

Hi, I would guess you have not made a txt file of the changes you make/made and do not bookmark the URL's where you got the information from to go tinkering so you can reverse them when issues happen or created a backup of your profile before making changes. In future please do so. These changes are saved in your Profile and now your Profile has to be taken apart and transfer good stuff to a new profile.
Always :

Create a new profile as a TEST to check if your current profile is causing the problem.

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem. Never work with original files.

Try to start Firefox in Safe Mode to see if that works.
- Windows: hold down the Shift key while starting Firefox
- Mac: hold down the Options key while starting Firefox
You can check for problems with preferences.
- delete possible user.js and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename/remove the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in current Firefox releases
