How do I remove the white/transparent overlay on the nav bar?

Hi there, I recently was forced to update to the new firefox quantum and of course Classic Theme Restorer no longer works. So now the navigation bar and all that stuff has this white overlay when using a custom theme, it would be great if anyone knows how to disable this as it looks just horrible!

I have attached a screenshot example. I would love for the addon support to also return.
