is pocket still an extension on the latest firefox

I need to refresh Firefox, but do not want to lose my Pocket. Is Pocket still an extension on the latest version of Firefox. I accidentally downloaded the update patch, and now some sites continue to crash. Norton has not been able to correct it, nor did it warn me of the malware.

The fake update/patch pushed by malware distribution sites installs into the Windows registry and needs to be removed ASAP. Uninstalling/reinstalling Firefox or refreshing Firefox won't help with that aspect of the problem. Please try the free version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware listed in our support article:

Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware

The article also lists other tools in case it is not detected.

To stop these fake updates in future,   you might consider an ad-blocking add-on like:

I already have the ad-block app; but this thing covered the entire screen just as I opened Firefox. It looked so official...logo...the whole deal. I kept waiting for Norton to warn me, but it never did. Now Norton keeps telling me that it has quarantined trojan,kotver!gm2 over and over; but I still keep crashing. I am not a geek and do well to turn on the PC. Am scared I will make things worse if I use the Malwarebytes.

If you do not want to try the steps in our support article, please post on Symantec's forums (Symantec is the company that makes Norton products) or use Symantec tech support for their advice.

Let them know it's Kotver. They may suggest their dedicated clean-up tool. I don't know if this is the latest version, it's the one I read about this Summer: https://www.symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2015-092321-2230-99

I was having so much trouble that I had to phone Norton. They took over by remote and ran the scan which fixed the problem. Is there anyway to warn users of Firefox about this fake notice that looks so authentic?

I appreciate your helpful suggestions so much. thanks!

The problem is that new sites are created every day, which means that Firefox's built-in bad site blocker cannot keep up. It's hard to know how else to help users.
