If I refresh firefox will my download history go in the saved folder for my profile?

My Firefox has been running more and more slowly and now limps along closer to an old dial up connection. If I refresh Firefox, I read that my preferences will be stored in a folder but will my download history go there as well? Also, can I restore the session tabs that I have open? I have them all open for a reason like papers on my desk. Thank you!!

According to the article about the feature, Firefox should preserve your download history and windows and tabs.

Note: If you are concerned about data loss, please be sure to backup your Firefox profile so that the information can be restored if anything goes wrong during the refresh.

On a side note, is there any particular reason why are you refreshing Firefox? Is there an issue that I can resolve for you?

Thanks Wesley! Yes it's horribly slow and I've tried all of the other suggested troubleshooting ideas that I can see and none have helped. Pages just "hang" and don't fully load and the overall speed is very slow. My iPhone loads more quickly when it's on the same wireless network.

How do I backup my profile?

Refresh will move the current profile as is to a folder on your desktop. It then copies the history, bookmarks, passwords, and a few other important files to a new profile. That new profile will then be opened.
