Hello, dear friends. Browser updated itself to version 49.0. However, Firefox restarts and nothing happens. There is a Firefox.exe running in system processes. But there are no any error messages nor a Firefox's window. I've checked Crash reports folder. But there are no new files dated this month. I've launched Firefox in safe mode via Windows key + R -> firefox -safe-mode - still the same issue. Turned off my AV and any other soft, restarted PC many times and so on. Moreover, I've tried to install new Firefox in Sandboxie (sandbox utility) - also nothing happens. Firefox launched as a process and that's all. 10 mins, 30 mins - nothing. Could you be so kind and let me know if it's possible to fix this issue somehow, please? I've downgraded my FF to 48.0.2 and it works fine, but you know - it'd be nice to have an upgraded one. Thank you in advance.

You may have corrupt xulstore.json or Localstore.rdf file.

Close Firefox. Open your file browser to this hidden location:

  • Mac: *~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/
  • Linux: *~/.mozilla/firefox/
  • Windows: %AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\
  • *C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\

Locate the above files. Then rename or delete them. Restart Firefox.

Assistance-multi, thanks. FredMcD, nope - still the same. Downgraded the Firefox back again.
