I want to put an icon for each of two websites on my desktop. I want to be sure they use Firefox. When I do it now, it sometimes uses Internet Explorer which I DO NOT WANT.

The simplest method would be to make Firefox the default browser, and also ensure it is the browser Windows uses for opening HTML (Normally that may be the same thing)

The other method is to make a Firefox shortcut that launches Firefox and amend that so that the url (address) of the website is appended. after the firefox.exe"

Ordinarily shorcuts on the desktop may be made by dragging the icon off the addressbar on to the Desktop, but that will open with the default browser, or default application for HTML and may not be Firefox

Second Method You probably already have a shortcut for Firefox on the Dektop right click and use the copy option . Now while still on the Desktop use the paste option and a new shortcut will be created. Next copy the address you need so that is in the clipboard ready for pasting. Open the properties of the new shortcut and carefully type in a space in the target field followed by pasting the address. For example

 "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1132791

Will be a Firefox shortcut (assumes standard window 32bit Firefox ) that launches Firefox and opens this question. Note there must be a space between the quote marks and the web address

You may then or later wish to change the icon of the shortcut &/or rename it to something meaningful.

Did one of those methods work for you ?
