As I cannot see much of anything, it is hard to tell, but there is a very long reed email address in a TO field. So that must be the inserted twice which you mentioned.

Red colouring means the email address is not in your address book.

How did you insert the email address? Please tell us what process you are using.

Method 1: Did you open 'Address Book' select an address book select contact and then click on 'Write' ?

Method 2: Did you click on 'Write' using 'Contacts Sidebar' select the address book of choice then either double click on contact to auto insert ? or select contact and click on 'Addto TO' button ?

Method 3: Did you click on Write' start to type in a TO field and see an option in the list, single left click on that option to insert

I click on an address in my address book and drag it to my email to be sent. If I can get rid of that attachment box on the right, since there is 0 attachments I think everything would be ok. That's when this started Thanks for working with me

I used method 1 but I drag the address from the address book to the email being sent

Press F9 to turn on the Contact Pane when in a Write window and stop dragging and dropping from the address book.

That helped, so I can only add 1 address on one line now ? The address I put in the write box are red does that mean BBC if not how do I BBC now ? Can I get rid of that empty attachment box on the top right side of the write box ? Thanks for your help

Thunderbird is designed for 1 address per address field. Go down the Contact Pane and hold the control key while selecting all contacts for the message. Then use one of the Add To buttons at the bottom.

To change a To field to BCC click the To button and change it.

Tested your current method: Confirm, the method you were using does put a messed up version of an email address into the TO field and open the 'attachment' section. This is because you are dragging a contacts details and not selecting the actual email address.

If you want to work via the 'Address Book' then do one of following: 1.select the contact so you can see the details in the lower section you will see email: email address. click on the email address which should be in a blue colour and Write will auto open with email address auto inserted into a To field.

2.Select to highlight contact in list and then click on Write button.

Method via Write button click on Write make sure 'Contacts Sidebar' is enabled select any address book you require select any number of contacts (hold Ctrl key whilst selecting) click on 'Addto To' button

I've tested this further and can also replicate the issue when trying to drag and drop from Contacts sidebar to TO field.
