Firefox unable to refresh any web page (but the application is not crashed).

Posting again. Yes, I have done the "refresh Firefox" thing repeatedly. Happening now about every 1-2 days. Suddenly, for no reason I can discern, no web page will refresh, you just get the circling little circle. Its working one minute, and stopped dead the next, no warning, no odd behavior. The app is not frozen or crashed; mouse works, new tabs open, menus pull down, etc. Just that you cannot refresh any web page. At the same moment that I cannot refresh a page in Firefox, I try the same web page in another browser and it works fine. So, its not the server. I see other similar postings, so this is not a unique problem. Is there any hope this will be FIXED (as opposed to telling us to "refresh Firefox")? I assume this is a Firefox bug, if another browser loads the same page fine at the same moment.

This is my last attempt. Anything anybody can suggest (not "Refresh" as that only works temporarily). I am about to abandon Firefox and move to another browser. this random and frequent behavior is too inconvenient. But if anybody out there has one last idea that might actually end this behavior, please let me know. Its also inconvenient to move browsers, and I'd rather stay with Firefox if it were feasible.

thank you.

If the spinning circle stops, the program is frozen.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

While still in Safe Mode,

Type about:support in the address bar and press Enter. Under the main banner, press the button; Copy Text To Clipboard.. Then in the reply box at the bottom of this page, do a right click in the box and select Paste. This will show us your system details. No Personal Information Is Collected.

Note: The circle did not stop spinning. It keeps spinning, on any/every web page. Nothing refreshes.

I started as instructed by holding down Shift key But I'm not sure it did it, as I see SafeMode: false below.

Here is the paste.

This time it made me confirm that I was starting in Safe Mode.

In order to do this, I killed the Firefox process. there was still a Firefox process listed in task manager, even though there was no Firefox window on the screen.

Note that to the question "does it work now"...usually the answer is yes. If the answer were yes for say a week, I'd probably live with it. Problem is, now its getting into this behavior daily or every other day. too often!

Here is the paste now with this re-start in Safe mode.

Please try safe mode again. Make sure Firefox is closed first.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}

Is the problem still there? While you are in safe mode;

Type about:preferences#advanced<Enter> in the address bar.

Under Advanced, Select General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.

The browser needs to be restarted to take effect. Are there any problems?

OK,i started in Save Mode again. I unchecked hardware acceleration as requested. In order to restart Firefox, I clicked the x in the upper right.

I then (after about a minute) got the Mozilla Crash Reporter, "We're sorry...".

...Well, I guess I cannot paste the crash report in here, as it requires 1000 or fewer characters. I'll just cut it off enough so it can go here. I also clicked 'yes' so I can tell Mozilla about the crash, but I don't know if you will be able to find it.

Well, it is working now at this moment. It always seems to...for about a day or so. So, the test will be, can it work for like a week before hanging up again?? I guess I can re-post in a few days and see what happens.
