Every time I sign on to Firefox, I get an error message saying that certain add-ons cannot be verified and have been disabled. Two of these add-ons are Yahoo Toolbar and Kaspersky protection, both of which I need. How can I get them back permanently?

Chosen solution

Enter about:config into your Firefox address bar Click the I'll be careful button Find xpinstall.signatures.required in the list Right click the preference Select Toggle until the value is false

Followup: The Yahoo toolbar add-on was updated on December 29, 2015. The latest version fixes an issue where the Yahoo toolbar becomes disabled after restarting Firefox. If you changed the xpinstall.signatures.required preference to false in the Firefox Configuration Editor (about:config page) as a workaround, you should reset the preference back to true, the default value.

Addon signing is an automated process that detects potential threats in addons. Unsigned addons have not gone through the signing process and could be harmful to your computer. To protect users, Mozilla has blocked all unsigned addons on Firefox.

Please refer to these Mozilla articles for more information about unsigned addons and how to enabled them:

Warning: The steps above may present a security risk. Please use with caution and at your own risk.

Please consider advising the addon developer about the issue, so that they can get their addon signed as soon as possible.
