In Windows 10, Firefox icon is pinned to the task bar. When I right-click on this icon, the list of recently visited website is shown. However, I'm unable to find how to remove the items. This behaviour is different from that in Windows 7 or 8.

Thanks in advance.

Hi

This is not really a Firefox question, more of a Windows 10 thing, but I have had a look and think I may have a solution for you;

  1. Start menu
  2. Settings (cog icon)
  3. Personalization
  4. Start
  5. "Show recently opened items in Jump Lists on Start or the taskbar"

If you toggle the last option to "Off", exit out of the settings, then go back in and toggle it to "On", the list should be clear. Warning - This will also clear other jump lists at the same time.

I hope this helps.

Seburo,

Have you tested the same steps in other applications before giving your judgement/conclusion in a haste? Well, no need to answer as it's a rhetoric question.

I can remove *recent items* at ease in other applications, eg OpenOffice apps, SumatraPDF, some text editors and of course Office 2013. How can you conclude that the problem is solely related to Windows 10? IMO, Firefox is also to be blamed for some unusual programming.
