Can I completely disable 'security.fileuri.strict_origin_policy'?

'security.fileuri.strict_origin_policy' screws up my web pages; regardless of 'true' or 'false' settings. When set to 'true', DOM cannot assign a reference object; such as, 'var myWindow = window.open("","theMessage")'; therefore, the first parameter must hold a URL if the message window is to have any content.

How can I delete of completely eliminate this 'feature'? I've tried installing a version of Firefox before this 'feature' was added but other problems "popped-up" when Firefox tried to render images; border-frames where none should be; just the first thing i noticed.

What i wish for is some damn consistency between all browser, DOM, CSS, and HTML. If it works, why screw it up with unnecessary changes? I plan to drop out of WEB Page design and work with Delphi, instead. I just wanted to finish this last WEB page without all the hassles of the 'feature' in this comment.

Is your application designed to run from a web server on an http:// URL when it's ready to launch, or is it always going to be run from a file:// URL? As far as I know, this setting only affects file:// URLs so if you are planning to run it from a web server eventually, you may need to start that phase of your testing now to avoid further aggravation.

Also, the forum software detected your Firefox as version 36. Is that correct?

Version 36 is not secure; Mozilla discloses security flaws after each new release. Is something holding you back from upgrading to Firefox 40? Please let us know so we can suggest solutions or workarounds.
