I can no longer see the toolbar with the start button, files, clock, etc on my screen when using firefox browser. It still shows up on others I try. Help
I do not have it on full screen.... I can no longer see the toolbar that normally goes across the bottom of the screen ALL THE TIME.
It makes it annoying to have to minimize firefox then click on what I need then click back to firefox.
Plus, I'd really like to be able to see what time it is.
How do I fix this?
Please help.
Thank you.

Hello, Try going to your start menu and look up suggestions about your toolbar. This problem doesn't seem hard to solve. :)
Can you tell from the buttons in the upper right of the Firefox window whether it is a maximized window or a resizable window? Firefox shouldn't cover the Windows 7 Taskbar either way, of course, but at least with a resizable window you could modify the size using the menu that appears when you press Alt+Spacebar. (To change height, choose Size from that menu, then press the Down Arrow key once, followed by the Up Arrow key as many time as needed to correct the too long height.)
Sometimes the file that stores your last used window dimensions becomes corrupted and contains nonsensical data. Because the file is difficult to edit, it usually is best to rename the file and let Firefox build a new one. This also will delete some of your toolbar display settings, so if you like to have the classic menu bar and/or Bookmarks Toolbar displayed, you'll need to turn those back on after doing this.
First, open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using either
- "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Troubleshooting Information
- (menu bar) Help > Troubleshooting Information
- type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter
In the first table on the page, click the "Show Folder" button. This should launch a new window listing various files and folders in Windows Explorer.
Leaving that window open, switch back to Firefox and Exit, either:
- "3-bar" menu button > "power" button
- (menu bar) File > Exit
Pause while Firefox finishes its cleanup, then rename xulstore.json to something like xulstore.old. If you see a file named localstore.rdf, rename that one to localstore.old.
Start Firefox back up again. Do windows display normally again, either resizable or maximized?
You can use one of these methods to show the toolbar list and select Menu Bar and/or Bookmarks Toolbar there:
- right-click a blank spot on the tab bar (or the "+" button)
- tap the Alt key to activate the classic menu bar > View > Toolbars
- in Customize mode > Show/Hide Toolbars (see: Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars)
Success?
