Up until version 36, bookmarks properly synced with the iCloud bookmarks add-on without a problem. Ever since, Firefox has changed the location where the bookmarks bar favorites are stored, so that now the base favorites on iOS are blank. Additionaly, this caused the bookmarks bar for Internet Explorer and Chrome to be blank. This has been reported under bug 1136808 but is stuck as Untriaged.

hello, the icloud bookmarks addon is a third-party product developed by apple. if the addon doesn't work like expected or has bugs, please directly contact apple's supports since they can likely give you more detailed guidance and are the only ones who can fix bugs or make necessary adjustments in the addon. thank you...

This worked fine up until FF 36, they haven't made any changes to their addon. The change was made and problem introduced by a FF update.

Is there anything else that can be done here? Firefox is still creating an additional folder for the bookmarks toolbar that does not properly sync via icloud. As I mentioned before, this used to work up until FF 36.

hello, there may well be a firefox version for ios very soon: https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/ios/ once it is generally released you could try using the built-in sync functionality within firefox to keep your bookmarks synced across devices...

That's great, it still doesn't fix the problem that was created in version 36 that continues today.

I don't think this is an iCloud issue either. Firefox and Internet Explorer used to play nice with the Favorites Bar (IE) / Bookmarks Toolbar (FF) and synced to the correct location.

I recently updated Firefox and noticed the on IE, FF and iOS Safari on my iPhone and iPads that my favorites toolbar was either blank or was populated with four generic links that I did not set up.

Thus now iOS devices are showing two favorites folder in the bookmark option, a new folder also shows in IE's Favorites Menu called BookmarksBar which is now blank since I removed the links.

Firefox does not recognise my Favorites Bar Folder which is were I have my important at a glance links to sites I use daily and does not automatically place these links into the Bookmarks Toolbar for me to see at a glance on Firefox.

I suspect if I remove Firefox and reset my icloud bookmarks then the duplicate Favorites Folder on iOS will vanish. But I use Firefox as a backup browser when sites don't play well with IE.

I'm sure this issue disappeared for a while but guess somebody changed something to bring it back.

A Bug was filed on Firefox 36.0 about this issue, but there has been no action by the Firefox developers. Hasn't even been commented on (by a developer) or "triaged" yet. Changes made in Firefox that affect a 3rd party add-on or program aren't the concern of Mozilla; it is up to the 3rd party to make their 'stuff' compatible with Firefox, again.

The solution was to uninstall Firefox. Now all of my bookmarks sync correctly.

If Firefox was the one that broke something, I'd think it's their responsibility to un-break it.
