Real Downloader (real.com) constantly crashes but works fine in Chrome. Don't recommend any of the easy fixes; I'm not stupid. About to abandon Firefox for good

Real Downloader (real.com) constantly crashes: hovering over a downloadable video should produce a "download this video?" button. This feature rarely works, yet functions fine in CHROME, which I am about to abandon Firefox for. Please do not recommend any of the easy fixes. I am not stupid and have been dealing with this ever since I abandoned IE for Firefox.

Please NOTE that uninstalling and reinstalling Real Player isn't really an option since it doesn't show up in Windows program uninstall and I don't care to do a manual search and destroy.

PLEASE fix Firefox so this stops happening.

If you have an older version of the RealPlayer software, it's possible that changes over the past year or two in Firefox have made it incompatible. I understand that you do not want to fish around for bits and pieces of the software, but perhaps if you just run a fresh install of the RealPlayer software that will be handled for you automatically?? if you have a particular affinity for this downloader, that might be the easiest thing to try. Otherwise, there are numerous alternate downloaders for Firefox that you could look into.

Meanwhile, we might be able to derive more information from your crash reports. When Firefox crashes, it usually records information about what was happening at that moment. You often will see the Mozilla Crash Reporter dialog come up. You can submit that data to Mozilla and share it with forum volunteers to see whether it points to the solution. Please check the last section of the support article "Firefox Crashes" for steps to get those crash IDs, and then post some of the recent ones here.
