Issue betwen Firefox & NVidia Driver leading to crashes. April 2015

Brief: Sporadic, simultaneous Firefox & NVidia driver crashes. 

    Most times the screen flashes, goes to black screen, then Firefox & driver go down.
    Sometimes the driver seems to reset before FF completely crashes.
    Sometimes, hard crash to blue screen.

Attempted Remedies: 

    I have updated my driver.  No change.
    I turned off hardware acceleration.  FF Now does not fully crash & submit a report. Possibly occurs less often.
    I loaded an older version of the driver.  No change.
         Subsequently I reloaded the newest. No change.

    Those reports only show the times FF completely crashed. For each report there are 3 - 6 times it went nuts and the driver crashed & restarted without FF going down.  Sometimes, a partial problem like that will lave artifacts on the screen, but only in FF.  If I leave FF, they are not present.

After much research I find there has been an extended history of this sort of thing between FF & NVidia. I am by no means pointing fingers. All I care about is suggestions on how to make it stop since I have already tried the first several recommended steps.

Looking at your crash reports they seem to be related to https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1143806, which is a bug in current Firefox but we haven't been able to track down any details. Can you please do the following:

type about:support into your address bar, press Enter. Copy and paste the data you see there into this thread.

I'll work to notify the engineers of your issue.

Please do this as a test.

1) Download and save the current full installers for the Norton you have. 2) Download and run the Norton Removal Tool to uninstall your Norton product 3) Reboot the computer. Then run a register scanner.
Do Not install Norton at this time. 4) Run Firefox. Are there still problems?
