Do you mean refresh, not reset? Refreshing shouldn't take out your bookmarks. Is there a folder on your desktop called Old Firefox Data? If so, you can get your old bookmarks, settings, etc back easily.

  1. Open the menu, click the question mark icon in the menu, then click Troubleshooting Information.
  2. Click the Show Folder button in the Troubleshooting Information page. (a window will open)
  3. Close Firefox. Click the Menu button then click the Power button icon.
  4. On your desktop, double click the Old Firefox Data folder then the folder inside it.
  5. Highlight everything in there by pressing Ctrl+A on your keyboard.
  6. Right click and click Copy.
  7. Go back to the window that opened when you clicked the Show Folder button.
  8. Right click an empty space and select Paste.
  9. Click replace on all file conflicts and merge the folders.
  10. Your Firefox info has been restored.

Hi granmanh, Firefox's built-in home page shouldn't do that.

What is the address of the home page that requires you to sign in? You can copy the address by clicking the address bar to select the address and then either right-click > Copy or press Ctrl+c. Then please paste that into a reply to your question here:

Ok I lost the other page that sent me to this page . I was doing this yesterday and finally made a separate acct for help forum . My husband found some book marks and added to the new acct

Oh, it sounds like your Firefox might have been restoring a previously open tab at startup. This could happen if you chose that setting or if Firefox was crashing (or thought it was crashing) at the end of the previous session.

Is it working better now?

All I got added to the new acct were some old bookmarks, still no passwords or history ... have to re add everything like new. Just gave up. maybe try again in a week with a fresh mind.

Hi granmanh, I don't know whether you investigated the option mentioned by the first reply. Do you have an Old Firefox Data folder on your desktop created by a Firefox Refresh (formerly called Reset)?

If so, you may be able to recover some additional data from that folder.
