wacky crash -- i have a screen shot to send. firefox officially not functioning because of this "overtaking." please advise

working on os 10.7.5 -- i always have lots of tabs open. i hit command-n to open a new window and was hijacked -- no way out, a window that did not fully load, a check box but no info … i have a screen shot of the window. i LOVE firefox, please tell me i haven't lost all of my history … this window overtook all others, nothing else was functioning ...

It could be one of those fake FBI / Interpol web pages that locks your browser and demands payment.

This add-on can stop such pages; disallow Script Button {web link} The Disallow Script button looks like a letter "M" and the title is the Minus Script, drag and drop the button on a toolbar. If the button is not displayed then nothing operates, except rules for plugins.
