When I open my browser it asks for my Thunderbird password. I have isloated the problem to the latest versuion of Firefox by deleting Thunderbird, still happens
each time I open the latest version of Firefox it asks for my Thunderbird password. I deleted Thunderbird but the problem persists, I then tried the previous version of Firefox and the problem disappeared. It is obviously caused by the latest version of Firefox, any solution please?

This will only happen if Firefox tries to connect to Sync or if you open a page with a (possibly hidden) login form and you have saved a password for the website. If Firefox tries to connect to Sync then you should see the email address in the "3-bar" Firefox menu button drop-down list instead of "Sign in to Sync" (see also Options/Preferences > Sync).
You can try this startup setting:
- Tools > Options > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts":
"Show a blank page"
Try to start Firefox with the about:blank page by creating a copy of the current Firefox desktop shortcut and add a space and -url "about:blank" to the target field.

Do you mean the master password for the software security device (password manager)?
Are you using Firefox Sync as this may cause this issue in Firefox 34?
Yes, the pop up always asks me to enter the password for the software security device. Dont use sync. It happens even when I deleted Thunderbird but not when using the previous version of Firefox.
You may consider resetting the master password. But, resetting your master password will remove all of your saved usernames and passwords.
