Just did a reimage of my PC and after installing the latest version of Firefox, it is not asking me to "Save Logins and Passwords" at all my websites. "Ask to save logins and passwords" option is checked. Help please. Thanks!

Are you using any password add-ons/programs?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Make sure you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode (Always use Private Browsing mode; Never Remember History).

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security
    Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"
  • remove checkmark: [ ] "Always use Private Browsing mode"

Finally tweaked the option to where it is now asking me to save logins and passwords again. However, its not retaining that information for me after closing Firefox out and/or rebooting my PC. For example, my financial institution is requiring me to register my PC each time I log in now.

Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection, can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.
