How to change newtabs column and rows?
I can't change rows and column at mozilla version 33
Chosen solution
In about:config the browser.newtabpage.columns shows 5 as the default, but those 5 columns don't appear - just the 3 as before. Not sure why that is, but I don't usually even use the default new tab page in my everyday Profile.
This extension still works - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/new-tab-tools/ - for modifying the newTab page via a user interface accessed in the Addons Manager rather than routing around in the bowels of Firefox. I use this add-on in a second Profile that I use for my favorite news websites
