Everytime I open Firefox, I have to sign in. It doesn't remember me any more. It never did that before. I need an easy answer.

Every time I open Firefox, I have to give my username and password. I never had to do this before. I've been doing this for over 2 mo. and I don't understand how to fix it. I don't understand a lot of the language that I have been reading. Please help.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache. Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to. To clear cache and cookies do the following:

  1. Click the menu button New Fx Menu, choose History, and then Clear Recent History....
  2. Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
  3. Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
  4. From the details list, check Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything else.
  5. Now click the Clear now button.

Further information can be found in the Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox article.

Also, I assume it's the username and password for your home page, which could be Gmail, Yahoo mail, or another secure site you want to visit that requires a login. Is that right, or is this request coming out of left field?

Firefox, in and of itself, does not ask for a password unless you selected a master password in the Password Manager. And the PW/M will not ask unless a web page asks for a password.

When you leave a secured site, do you log out? Then you need to log in again for access. For non high security sites, like Mozilla, libraries, and other places like these, you don't have to sign out unless you want to. If you try to enter that site from another computer or profile on the same computer, you will still have to sign in because only the original profile is logged in.

High security sites, like banks, stores, work, and such sites, you must log out to prevent someone else getting on you computer and making trouble.
