I've tried updating when the pop-up window comes up and provides the link / button. I've also tried going through "Help" then "About" then "Apply Update" and still it tells me that "The installation failed because the update could not be verified". I currently have v14.0 and would like to update immediately however that does not seem possible.

Please go to www.getfirefox.com, and download Firefox 22 and install it over your current install of Firefox. That should update you.
