after I updated firefox it takes a long time to respond then it tells me a script is busy and gives me an option to stop the script when i do firefox starts normaly

That is a problem with an AVG extension or toolbar (tavgp)
Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
