I've got a very similar problem to this one: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1096591

I also want Firefox to automatically save my passwords for most of the websites I go to, but not for the one of my banking account. However, when I open the login screen of my bank's website, a password is already filled in (fortunately, not the right one), but I still would like this field to be empty and for Firefox never to save passwords for that website. But everytime I log in, the Key-icon next to the adress bar asks me whether I want to update my password, and the only other option I get is 'Not now'.

So how do I get this website to the option 'Never save passwords for this website' if it doesn't show up in the Key-icon?

ps. I tried the about:permissions suggestion that was mentioned in the link I posted, but as was already said, this page is discontinued. I also tried the cookie exception option but this didn't change anything.

pps. My Firefox is set in Dutch, so I might not be using the right terms

Thanks a lot in advance!

Hello Elianna, open the Options menu (3-bar menu on your right up) choose Security > in Logins check the Remember logins for sites and > click Exceptions to add your exception site > close the tab an now clear both cookies and the cache.

To clear cache and cookies do the following:

  1. Click the menu button New Fx Menu, choose History, and then "Clear Recent History...".
  2. Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
  3. Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
  4. From the details list, check Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything else.
  5. Now click the "Clear Now" button.

Exit firefox and restart it. Any luck ?

Thank you.

Use these steps to remove saved (form) data from a drop-down list:

  1. click the (empty) input field on the web page to open the drop-down list
  2. highlight an entry in the drop-down list with the mouse or cursor Down key
do not click the mouse or press the Enter key
  3. press the Delete key (on Mac: Shift+Delete) to delete the highlighted entry

It is possible that the website just fills those fields with some dummy values if they are pre-filled when you visit a page with a login form.

Note that a detail like a website remembering you (log you in automatically) is stored in a cookie. You can remove the Cookies from a website to make the website forget about you like posted above.
