I had a system wide setting for Shift+Ctrl+D to open another app on my Ubuntu machine. But now with version 121.0 of Firefox, when Firefox is in focus, the hotkey triggers Firefox to open a New Bookmark form. What I also found is that the hotkey I used for clipboard history Shift+Ctrl+V also doesn't work when Firefox is in focus.

Does it still happen if you set the environment variable MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND=0?

when I apply that I get this error when even trying to open Firefox:

> Error: cannot open display: :0

Global shortcuts on Wayland depends on recent xdg-desktop-portal support to reach your Ubuntu version.

ok, looks like latest version released for xdg-desktop-portal is 1.18.2, but the latest available via apt is 1.14.4-1 for Ubuntu 22.04 https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xdg-desktop-portal

do you happen to know which version will support the global shortcuts? or should I go all the way to the 1.18.2.

while I'm asking questions, do you know what ppa would need updating to get only the latest xdg-desktop-portal?
