I have tried everything suggested and nothing speeds it up. There have been times when it takes 2 minutes to open a new browser window. I am about ready to completely quit using firefox as I have a business to run and can't waste time waiting for the browser to load. I even tried uninstalling and re-installing the software. I am wondering if I have some other program that may be causing the delay. However, I am not having any delay from ie or chrome.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift (Mac Options) > key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?
