Address in location bar
When I search for something, the location bar no longer shows the address and the star to add bookmarks unless I click on a little globe. I installed a Firefox update not long ago but this has only just happened. I'd like to be able to just bookmark searches like I used to.

That is a new feature for people who like to edit their search queries in the address bar. If you don't plan to try that, then maybe it would be more efficient to switch back to showing the address of search results pages instead of your search query.
You could experiment with these settings:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.
More info on about:config: Configuration Editor for Firefox. The moderators would like us to remind you that changes made through this back door aren't fully supported and aren't guaranteed to continue working in the future.
(2) In the search box in the page, type or paste showSearchTerms and pause while the list is filtered. Firefox 140 should show two preferences.
(3) Double-click the browser.urlbar.showSearchTerms.enabled preference, or click the toggle switch toward the right end of the row, to switch the value from true to false
(4) If browser.urlbar.showSearchTerms.featureGate is true, you might also want to double-click that one to switch the value to false
(What's strange is that I never got this change at all. Maybe I have a conflicting setting somewhere.)
